Marijuana Card

Marijuana is illegal under federal law, however, many states have approved medical marijuana as a result of majority votes in State elections. The Michigan Medical Marijuana Certification Center complies with state laws in offering a registration program that certifies patients for a marijuana card.

The state guidelines are intended to separate patients with medical conditions from recreational marijuana users. Marijuana has shown to be beneficial for certain medical conditions. Requiring a marijuana card is an effective prerequisite to legally purchasing or growing the plant for medical use.

At the Michigan Medical Marijuana Certification Center our licensed medical staff will review patient records for qualification, registration and issue of a marijuana card. With the marijuana card, the patient can legally purchase and use medical marijuana. If a patient has a caregiver, that person is also provided a marijuana card in order to purchase treatment for the patient.

In order to receive a marijuana card, the patient must show proof of residence in Michigan, as well as documentation verifying that they have a qualifying condition. Certification from a Michigan licensed doctor is required in order to receive a marijuana card. Qualification for a marijuana card, may be different in each state. In Michigan patients are required to pay a fee, and comply with other state-regulated rules before the marijuana card is issued.

In most cases, any patient who has been issued a recommendation from a licensed physician may use a medical marijuana card to either grow their own treatment or purchase from a legal dispensary. Limits on quantity of marijuana allowed to the patient with a marijuana card varies according to state regulations.
